At two thousand five hundred and twelve metres, on the shore of Lake Ouillette in the Solaise sector, a pale-wood chalet with vast picture windows and wide terraces, the name is not a conceit, you really do settle in as if on a beach when the sun is out. Three moods coexist: La Guinguette for a snack, La Brasserie de la Plage for traditional, generous cooking, and Le Brigitte for more careful grilling around the brasero. You come up by the Solaise gondola, and in summer by the Col de l'Iseran road.
You lunch here in ski gear, boots on, as everyone does and nobody will look at you. Just bring an extra layer for the terrace, you cool down quickly once you sit.
