Hôtel Martinez, In The Unbound Collection by Hyatt

Opened in 1929, the Martinez is the great Art Deco house of the Croisette: taut lines, lacquer, pale gold, and 409 rooms whose finest face due south over the bay. Its gastronomic table, La Palme d'Or, passed into Jean Imbert's hands and regained its Michelin star less than a year after reopening. The rest of the house is more relaxed than you would expect: Le Sud and its terrace under the trees, the Martinez Bar in its retro state, and La Plage du Martinez at the end of its pier, one of the few places in Cannes where you genuinely lunch above the water. The Carita spa, L'Oasis, completes the picture. This is our address for those who want the Festival without all of its agitation.
