The Carlton's two white cupolas have held the Croisette since 1913, and it is probably the most photographed façade on the French Riviera. The house hosted the very first Cannes Film Festival in 1946 and stood in for Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief, which tells you most of what you need to know about its relationship with cinema.
