Héliski en Italie ou en Suisse depuis Megève

Let us say it at once, as we do for Courchevel: heli-skiing is banned in France. Article 76 of the 1985 Mountain Law prohibits dropping passengers for leisure purposes in mountain areas, and the ban has since been extended to picking them up, which closes the loophole of collecting skiers at the bottom. What we arrange is therefore not French heli-skiing. The helicopter lifts off from Megève's altiport and sets you down across a border: in the Aosta Valley on the Italian side, or in Switzerland, the only Alpine country to have kept the practice legal, on some forty tightly regulated mountain landing sites. Megève's position is a genuine advantage here: the resort is roughly equidistant from both, and the choice is made in the morning according to where the snow is better. Confirmed off-piste ability required, mountain guide mandatory, and postponement without argument if the snowpack does not allow it.
