Day at sea

A day at sea from Saint-Tropez is not simply about chartering a boat: it is the route that makes the day, and it depends on the wind, the season and what you are after. We propose three, all tested, from the wildest to the most worldly. The boat, the crew, lunch on board or ashore and the water toys are settled afterwards. We will also tell you when to give up: a settled mistral makes the three capes unpleasant, and it is better to know the day before.

The options

The three capes

Cap Camarat, Cap Taillat and Cap Lardier: the peninsula's wild coast, the stretch reachable only on foot or by sea. Anchoring off Taillat for a swim, lunch on board, back past Pampelonne in the late afternoon. The route we recommend for a first day, the finest coastline, the fewest people.

The three islands

Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Le Levant, to the west. The day is longer and needs a calm sea, but Port-Cros is a national park and the water there is of another order. Lunch on Porquerolles or on board at anchor. Book it when you have a full day ahead and nothing on that evening.

Heading for La Guérite

Eastwards, to the island of Sainte-Marguerite facing Cannes, for lunch at La Guérite under the pines at the water's edge. The crossing takes a little over an hour depending on the boat. You arrive for lunch, you stay for the mood that builds through the afternoon, and you come back at sunset. Table and boat are booked together, which is exactly what we do.

Pricing

The price depends on the boat, its size, the crew, the fuel burnt on the chosen route and the period, a day in August does not compare with a day in May. We build the proposal once we know your dates and party size, and we tell you plainly when a route is not worth its supplement on a given day.
