Cultural excursion

It is the only cultural excursion on the coast that genuinely fills a whole day without tiring anyone, and we run it from Saint-Tropez as readily as from Cannes or Monaco: an hour and a half by road from the peninsula, under half an hour from Cannes, three quarters of an hour from the Principality. You begin with the old town and its covered market, follow with the Picasso Museum housed in the Château Grimaldi facing the sea, then drop down to the Cap for lunch. We work with accredited guides who speak French, English and Italian, and who know how to adjust the pace when children are along. Car, guide and table are booked together.

The options

The old town and the Picasso Museum

The Provençal market on Cours Masséna, the ramparts, then the Château Grimaldi, which became the Picasso Museum in 1966. Picasso worked there in the autumn of 1946 and left the town twenty-three paintings and forty-four drawings, among them La Joie de vivre. It is a small museum, which is precisely its strength: you go round it without tiring and you remember all of it. Closed on Mondays.

Lunch at the Cap

Two options depending on the mood: Restaurant de Bacon, a Cap d'Antibes institution for bouillabaisse and whole fish, or The Grill at Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, on its terrace above the sea. The latter needs booking well ahead, that is our job.

Dinner in town

Mamo Michelangelo, in old Antibes, for an unceremonious Italian evening, the address we propose when the visit runs on and you would rather not drive back to Saint-Tropez for dinner.

Pricing

€500 – €1,000 per day

That is the guide's rate, depending on which guide, the language and the length of the day. Transport is on top, and we handle it: either a van with driver at your disposal, €150 an hour, or a return transfer we arrange, the first when you want to be able to stop along the way, the second when you already know where you are going. Entries and the table are quoted separately. We send you a single proposal rather than four invoices.
