Casita Amor plays a hand you rarely find on Pampelonne any more: calm. The cooking turns on the wood fire (grilled fish and meats, sharing starters) in a natural, understated setting that stands apart from the beach's more demonstrative addresses. It's where I send clients who want a genuine beach day, with good food and sunbeds, without the afternoon tipping into a party. Booking advised in season. We arrange table and mattresses together.

The dress we advise

Swimwear and a sarong at lunch, nobody minds. Just bring a shirt or a kaftan for the table, and something to keep the sun off.
